Visual Arts Fun!

In Art the Prep and Grade One students have created some pictures about ‘People who help keep us safe’.  They used black crayon to draw their pictures and coloured these in with pot paints.

Next in Art the Prep and Grade One students created butterflies by tracing their hand and decorating the picture using fluorescent coloured oil pastels and painting over them with a range of different coloured food dyes. Again the students did a great job.

The Grade Two to Four students created some sea creatures using the outline of their foot as a starting point and used  fluorescent coloured oil pastels.  They finished by painting these with coloured food dye to create the illusion of water.

The Grade Five and Six students also made sea creatures.  They started with a shell, an oil pastel and a sea coloured piece of paper and used the shell as inspiration to create a sea pattern on the paper.  Once this was finished they used  the shell again to inspire a shape of a sea creature and used metallic coloured oil pastels on black paper to create these.  Once finished they cut them out and stuck the sea creature on the back ground they made.

Don't forget to check out the displays around the school to see some more fantastic work!
