Performing Arts!

The Grade Five and Six students have enjoyed playing "Postcards" and have started to learn how to dance the Jive.  They enjoyed singing “We Will Rock You” and “Fireflies” and are improving their Performing Arts’ skills.

Fun Times!

The Grade Two, Three and Four students have enjoyed a range of activities in Performing Arts.  One of these is called Postcards where the whole group of students or each small group chose a country and then each chose something or someone from that country to be. Students come up and pose in position creating a postcard and when the teacher says action they act out their parts.  Sometimes students can guess what country each group is being.  The students have also enjoyed singing “Hakuna Matata” from The Lion King.

Performing Arts

The Prep and Grade One students have been learning about high and low.  Students participated in an activity where when they heard a high note they needed to reach up to the sky and when they heard a low note bob to the ground.  We also have played some games of charades where a student acts out a word, name or sentence and the rest of the class need to guess who/what the word is.  The students played imaginary sports where the teacher calls out a name of a sport and the students need to act it out and enjoyed doing some dancing.

Stencil Rubbings

The Grade Five and Six students have made birds out of pieces of cardboard.  Once they created their bird they made a rubbing on different types of paper using rubbing crayons, including metallic ones.  Many students have also been able to complete a reflection sheet about their work.
Well done!

Life on Earth Picture Weaving

The Grade Two, Three and Four students have been doing some picture weaving.  Starting with a picture of something to do with ‘Life on Earth,’ they cut slits in the picture and wove through coloured strips of paper.  They finished by mounting the pictures on cover paper. The students have worked hard on these.
Great Effort!
