VISUAL ARTS

In Art students created their own self portrait.  They used  a mirror and had some examples of how to draw a face and different features.  The Prep and Grade One students used oil pastels for their portrait and the Grade Ones also used coloured food dye.  The Grade Two - Six students used soft pastels and enjoyed smudging the pastel to create blending and a softening effect. All the portraits look amazing and the students will have these as a keep sake when they graduate.

 

 

 

 

Choir performance at St Peter's Church

On Saturday 22nd October the Kerrimuir choir performed at St Peter's Church Fair. The girls enthusiastically sang five songs including "Thankyou for the Music", "I'm a Song" and "Hello Goodbye". The performance was enjoyed by church members, parents and other community members who had dropped by to enjoy the fair.

Book Week 25th August

On the 25th August Students at Kerrimuir enjoyed rotations focusing on numeracy and literacy. In the music room students played percussion instruments, dressed up in costumes, sang and danced to the song "The Great Times Table Medley". All ages really enjoyed this activity!

Kerrimuir Choir 2011

 

Students in the Kerrimuir choir have been diligently and enthusiastically rehearsing and performing during Semester 1. The choir has sung in assemblies and at the Kerrimuir Fair, the latter was a particularly exciting experience for the girls. Rehearsals are held each Tuesday lunch-time where students participate in vocal warm-ups, singing known songs and learning/refining new songs.

First semester 2011 has been full of exciting music making and performances. Students have been singing, dancing, playing, creating and listening to a variety of music during lessons. Popular instruments in the music room are the drums, claves, glockenspiels and xylophones.

It was wonderful to see so much talent and confidence among our grade 3-6 students. Well done everyone and thank you to all those families who came along to support them. Special thanks also go to Mat Chaffer for being our MC, Adele Pasquini for organising food and drink, as well as Amy Robinson for her donations toward the art prizes and her own art for display.
